Fortnite Down for Hours! New Season Launch Turns into Nightmare (But There's a Fix!)

Gamers were left frustrated on Friday as the launch of Fortnite's exciting new Greek mythology season was delayed. Usually, downtime for maintenance only lasts a few hours, with Epic taking the servers offline at 3AM ET for updates. This time, however, the wait stretched on for much longer, leaving the popular battle royale game unavailable until well past 9PM ET.

While some players reported being able to download the update and jump into the game after 9PM ET, many weren't so lucky. Reports surfaced of long queues to log in, along with frustrating error messages. Finally, after an extended wait, the Epic Games status page confirmed that the maintenance window was over and everything should be operational.

However, the saga wasn't quite over. On Saturday morning, Epic acknowledged that players on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles were still experiencing problems. Some gamers reported repeated crashes with the new update, with Epic suggesting PS5 users try clearing their cache to resolve the issue.
