Try the Latest iOS! Install iOS 17.5 Public Beta Now
Apple just released the public beta of iOS 17.5! This means you can get your hands on new features and bug fixes before the official release, without needing to be a developer.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind though. First, iOS 17.5 isn't quite ready for prime time, so it might have some glitches. Second, the new features focus on improved privacy protection and giving European users more freedom to install apps.
If you're still interested in trying it out, I can walk you through the steps to join the iOS 17.5 beta program.
How to install the iOS 17.5 beta
1. Sign up the Apple Beta Software Program
Don't have iOS 17's public beta yet? That's okay! We'll start there. If you're already in the program, you can jump ahead.
Open the Safari app and head to the Apple Beta Software Program sign-up page. Click "Sign Up" and log in with your Apple ID. Just a heads-up, you'll need to agree to some legal stuff before moving on.
2. Head to your iPhone's Software Updates menu
3. Set Beta Updates to iOS 17 Public Beta
4. Update to iOS 17.5 beta
After you tell your iPhone to switch to beta updates, you'll see the option to install the iOS 17.5 beta right away. Just tap "Update Now" if you're ready to jump in. If you prefer, you can choose "Update Tonight" and your iPhone will install the update automatically while you sleep – as long as it's plugged in and locked. In either case, you'll need to enter your passcode to get things going.
Once the update is finished, you'll be rocking the iOS 17.5 beta! We have a separate article detailing all the new features you can check out. And hey, don't forget to explore our other iPhone tutorials to get even more out of your device.
