FCC Listings Reveal Budget-Friendly Galaxy Watch FE Set for Summer Release

TL;DR
  • FCC filings have revealed details about the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 series.
  • The listings identify four expected models encompassing different sizes and connectivity options.
  • A mysterious fifth model number, SM-R861, has also surfaced in the filings.

Samsung is preparing for a busy summer with several wearable product launches on the horizon. The much-awaited Galaxy Ring and the Galaxy Watch 7 series are scheduled to debut in a couple of months. Interestingly, recent filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have revealed an unexpected addition to their lineup: a possible Galaxy Watch FE.

FCC listings, discovered by DroidLife, have confirmed the model numbers for the Galaxy Watch 7. The numbers SM-L300 and SM-L310 likely correspond to the 40mm and 44mm Bluetooth-only versions, following Samsung’s typical naming conventions. Meanwhile, the SM-L305 and SM-L315 are probably the LTE versions, as suggested by the cellular connectivity mentioned in the FCC documents.

Interestingly, the listings also reveal a previously unknown model number, SM-R861. The filings clearly identify it as a watch, distinguishing it from the Galaxy Ring. This variant is indicated to support only Bluetooth connectivity, hinting at a potentially more affordable option in the Galaxy Watch lineup.

Details about this new model are still scarce, so we’ll have to wait until the official launch for more information. Although Samsung hasn’t officially announced its Galaxy Unpacked event yet, it’s expected to be held on July 10.
